For those dare-devils among us, this lovely region of southern Spain has plenty of adventure sports available. Whether looking for extreme, adrenaline adventure sports or more modest thrills, Andalucia has it all.

Admittedly, Andalucia doesn’t have any towering skyscrapers to base-jump from. Not to worry, however, as this region of Spain has plenty of seriously high cliff faces. These are particularly found in the Sierra Nevada and Ronda, just waiting for daredevils to jump.
Basically, the sport involves running as fast as you can towards the edge, and then hurling yourself off while assuming the straddle position. You will then manoeuvre yourself as far from the cliff face as possible and open your ‘chute, all within around six to seven seconds. You then get to float gently down to the ground.

2. Skydiving in southern Spain
Skydiving is definitely a mega-adrenalin rush for the adventure sportsperson. The sport is similar to regular free-fall parachuting, but it much faster. Basically, you will exit the plane and invert yourself with your head pointing straight down to the ground, legs together and arms clamped to your sides.
The main idea is to travel as fast as you possibly can, even reaching speeds of around 200 mph. Before hitting the ground, you simply pull out of the dive and assume the normal straddle position, while decelerating and releasing your parachute. This exciting winter sport can be enjoyed in Andalucia and basically involves a hell-for-leather rush, straight down a near-vertical, ice-covered track while wearing skis. For this sport, the skis as wider than normal and you will wear an aerodynamic helmet and will carry body-hugging poles.
The sport takes a lot of courage and faith in your own ability on 240-cm-long, 30-lb fibreglass planks. The best location for speed skiing is the Sierra Nevada, where you can head at your fastest down the black runs. Watch a daredevil in action in the video below.
