finca. The hotel is small and charming, offering the best personal

Finca
El Romeral respects the ecology of the surrounding environment and uses
solar panels and wind generators for power. In the surrounding grounds,
the hotel's owners have planted 150,000 oaks, wild olive trees and pine
trees to protect the soil from erosion and to help fight climate change.
The hotel is all on one level, with no stairs or other barriers and offers
five spacious and comfortable double rooms.

Archeology
Finca El Romeral is less
than an hour away of walk from the Iberian village of Castellar de Meca,
a very important pre-romanic city, and one of the best iberian villages.
The prehistoric paintings at the cave called "cueva de la vieja", a neolithic
(8.000 B.C.) sanctuary are also available to view.

Birdwatching:
In the finca and surrounding
areas there are many birds to watch, such as little and great bustards,
stone curlews, grey herons, flamingos, blue-cheeked bee-eaters.
Other activities:
Mountain biking, white water
rafting, kayaking in the Júcar river or in the Almansa reservoir
(the oldest in Europe: XVI century), horse riding. During the year the
hotel offers the possibility of learning how to make manchego cheeses and
other dairy products, such as yogurt, cuajada (a basque dairy dessert).
