A Galician
mansion, set in the heart of Ferrol, an attractive seafaring city, this
hotel has glassed balconies and a very special maritime setting.
With nautical decor in the public rooms, including world maps and sailing
instruments, and a beautiful old boat lantern on the main staircase, the

This Parador
is in a former Royal Hospital and a late 15th Century pilgrim's hostel,
and is considered to be the oldest hotel in the world. Combining
art, tradition and history, and the goal of pilgrims and the emblem of
St. James, the Hostal dos Reis Católicos is located in the Plaza
do Obradoiro and together with the cathedral is one of the world's most
remarkable and visited urban locations. The hotel is luxurious and
beautiful and has four cloisters, splendid bedrooms, elegant and comfortable
public rooms, and two restaurants - the restaurant Dos Reis, select and
sedate, and the restaurant Enxebre, with a more informal ambience, offering
traditional Galician cooking. Seafood and fish recently caught in the Atlantic,

In the
highest area of the town of Monforte de Lemos is a monumental group of
buildings of San Vicente do Pino, including the Torre del Homenaje, the
monastery of San Vicente do Pino and the Palace of the Counts of Lemos.
The last two of these historic buildings houses the Parador de Monforte
de Lemos. The monastery dates from the 9th century, although the
present building, on the same site, was built in the 17th century in the
Neoclassical style. The hotel has a beautiful central cloister with
fine stonework. The guest rooms are distributed around the central
cloister and also in an annex known as the Casa del Monte Fuerte.
The restaurant offers traditional Galician cuisine, including excellent
trout or eels, and game such as venison and hare. Lacón con grelos
(a pork and vegetable stew) with chorizo sausage; zorza sausage, tripe,

the counts of Vilalba, and a new stone building in the style of a Galician

area of wonderful natural beauty, this hotel is a former Benedictine monaster,
right in the heart of the Ribiera Sacra, where the rivers Miño and
Sil converge. The monastery styles range from Romanesque to Baroque,
and the building has three cloisters (one Romanesque, one Gothic and one

Arousa, the former Pazo de Bazán, now a lovely hotel, was an ancestral
mansion built in the 17th century. On the Gallegan coast, which is

in is the centre of the village of Cambados, and is only a short distance
